What is the THX app?

THX is a free app that rewards you with points for completing short questionnaires and allowing optional media‑tracking features. Trade your points for digital gift cards, enter prize draws or donate them to charity. By taking part you help brands fine‑tune their products and services to real consumer needs.

How do I earn points?

• Complete micro‑surveys about brands, ads and programmes.
• Enable TV & Radio or Outdoor tracking and earn points automatically, hour by hour.
• Fill in optional profile questions for a quick bonus.

What can I do with my points?

Spend them in our in‑app Gift Shop, donate them to charity via THX Giving, or simply keep earning to boost your chances in regular prize draws.

Do my points expire?

No—they stay on your account indefinitely as long as you remain an active member.

My points didn't update—what should I do?

Swipe down to refresh the home screen or fully close and reopen the app. If the balance still looks wrong after a few minutes, contact support.

I didn't receive a verification code.

Double‑check your email address and wait a few minutes. If nothing arrives, force‑close the app and start signup again. Still stuck? Email support@thx.community.

How can I reset my password?

Tap "Forgot your password?" on the sign‑in screen, enter your username and follow the emailed instructions. If you can't remember your username, contact support.

How do I leave THX?

Deleting the app stops all data collection. To have your account fully removed, email support and we'll erase your data.

How often will I be invited to participate?

Invitations depend on survey availability and whether media tracking is on. You can disable push notifications in your phone settings at any time.

What happens to my personal information?

All data is used for aggregated research only. We never share individual‑level data with third parties.

Where can I update my profile?

Open Account in the app to view and edit your details. New profile questions appear here from time to time and are worth extra points.

Do I get points for editing existing answers?

No. Points are awarded only for new profile questions to prevent fraud.

Can I change my profile picture?

Not yet—this option is planned for a future update.

How do I change my email address?

Contact support and we'll update it for you.

Media Research

What is TV & Radio research?

By granting microphone access, you allow the app to create tiny audio fingerprints that tell us which programmes or commercials are playing nearby. No raw audio is saved. You earn points for every hour the feature is on.

Why do you need microphone access?

The app needs brief sound samples to generate real‑time audio fingerprints. These are matched against a secure database and immediately discarded—nothing is recorded or stored.

What is Outdoor research?

If you enable location sharing, the app can see when you pass specific ad locations or stores. Each hour earns points. Location data is anonymised and never sold.

Do you track me everywhere?

Location pings are matched only against predefined points of interest and aggregated for reporting. We never share raw location trails.

How do I turn media research on or off?

Android: toggle the tiles on the home screen; iOS: use the permission pop‑ups or Settings. You can disable anytime.

Why am I getting interruption alerts?

Media tracking pauses if you hard‑close the app or another app uses audio. Simply reopen THX to resume earning points.

How many points do I get?

Currently 1 point per hour for TV & Radio and 1 point per hour for Outdoor research.

Surveys & Opinion

Where can I find available surveys?

Go to Opinion in the app. New surveys trigger a push notification.

A survey disappeared—why?

Either you've completed it or the response quota has been reached.

How many points are surveys worth?

Each survey shows its exact points value before you start.

My points didn't appear after a survey.

Refresh the app; if the balance still lags after a few minutes, contact support.

What do you do with my answers?

Responses are combined with thousands of others to create anonymised insights. Individual answers are never disclosed.

I don't get survey notifications.

Enable Opinion push notes in Settings.

THX Giving

How does THX Giving work?

Donate your points to one of several live charity boxes. When the time frame or target is reached, we convert every 200 points into €1 and transfer the donation.

Is there a limit to how many points I can donate?

You can donate any or all of your balance while the collection is open, up to the target amount.

Why show points instead of money?

App‑store rules restrict in‑app monetary donations, so we collect points and handle the cash transfer externally.

I'm not getting charity notifications.

Enable Charities push notes in Settings.

Gift Shop

When can I buy a gift card?

In Gift Shop you'll see a green Buy button once your balance meets the required points.

What happens after I order?

You'll receive a confirmation email. E‑vouchers are sent within 10 business days.

How many gift cards can I order?

Generally unlimited, subject to your points balance and occasional limits on special offers.

Will more retailers be added?

Yes—our catalogue expands regularly.

Prize Draws

How do I enter prize draws?

Collect at least one point per day during the draw period. All active users are automatically entered.

What happens on draw day?

Winners are selected automatically and notified by email. The result also appears in the app under Closed Prize Draws.

Can a draw be extended?

Yes, if too few users meet the criteria, we may extend the deadline rather than cancel.
